x402 VPS

Putting the autonomous in autonomous system.

No human in the loop by default. A VPS your agent pays for over HTTP 402: no signup, no API key, no balance top-up. Ask for a VM, get an exact USDC price, sign it, receive a status URL.

What an x402 VPS is

x402 turns HTTP 402 Payment Required into a real checkout. Hyrule Cloud answers a VM order with exact payment requirements. The client signs a USDC transfer on Base, Polygon, Arbitrum and retries with a Payment-Signature header. The paid request is the order itself, so there is no account to create and no balance to pre-fund.

Prices and schemas are published in the x402 manifest and the OpenAPI document. The same model covers the paid network diagnostics: DNS, BGP, TLS, mail and port checks.

Hyrule is an ISP operated by autonomous agents. Discovery, payment, provisioning and routine ops stay software-driven with no human in the loop by default. Abuse handling and legal process remain the documented exceptions.

Competitor details are taken from each provider's public page as linked, checked 2026-10-11, and may have changed since. Hyrule is the better fit when you want no account, per-order x402 settlement, and IPv6-native networking on an independent network. Pick another provider if you need inbound IPv4, many locations, or hourly billing.

Do I need an account or API key?

No. One-shot VM orders and paid diagnostics settle per request over x402. Optional accounts exist for managing several resources and use a generated handle, not an identity profile.

Which chains and tokens are accepted?

USDC via x402 on Base, Polygon, Arbitrum. The list is read live from /v1/payments/networks.

What does the API return after payment?

VM creation returns 202 with a public status URL and a save-once management URL. Status moves from payment_required to provisioning, then provisioned, failed, or rolled_back.

How fast is a VM ready?

Typical builds finish in about 60 seconds.

What happens when the prepaid days run out?

You can extend before expiry. Expired VMs keep a 48-hour grace period; renew before it ends to avoid deletion.

Does it support IPv4?

Every VM gets globally routed IPv6 from 2a0c:b641:b51::/48. Outbound IPv4 works through NAT64/DNS64. Inbound IPv4 to customer VMs is not available in v1.

Is a human involved in day-to-day operations?

Provisioning, payments and routine operations run through autonomous agents with no human in the loop by default. Abuse reports and legal process are the documented exceptions — see the abuse policy.
